In addition to spray dryers, we at Dutch Drying Systems also offer static fluid bed dryers. It is obvious that we tailor them to the requirements of the customer.
In a static fluid bed dryer, the products that need to be processed float on a cushion of air or gas. The process air is supplied to the bed by a perforated distribution plate. Then the air flows through the bed of solids at sufficient speed to support the weight of particles in a fluidized state.
Within the fluid bed, bubbles form that burst: this promotes an intense movement of particles. In this state, the solids behave like free-flowing boiling liquid. Very high heating and mass transfer rates are obtained through the close contact between individual particles and the fluidization gas.
